Cinnamon Teal

Wildlife photography often rewards patience with moments that few people ever get to witness. During a recent outing in Bozeman, Montana, I had the opportunity to photograph a pair of Cinnamon Teal during the nesting season.

Known for the male's rich cinnamon-colored plumage and striking red eye, Cinnamon Teal are among the most beautiful waterfowl found in the western United States. While they can be seen throughout parts of Montana during the breeding season, observing a nesting pair is a special experience that offers a glimpse into an important stage of their life cycle.
